HISTORY
Like her sister Tala, Selene was stolen away by Cersei, then the True Fae of Winter, at a young age as part of Cersei’s agreement with her unknowing human parents. Selene spent the entirety of her life being subjected to terrible experiments, as Cersei wanted to cut the Gift of the Harper out of her as soon as possible: she needed an assassin on call, and someone who was capable of bending the land to her will. When Maes Mordechai later came to recover the Vega twins, Cersei was only willing to let one of them go. Selene elected to stay behind in her sister’s place.

Selene spent the rest of the next three hundred Arcadian years as Cersei’s assassin on a leash. Cersei’s brutality erased all memories she had of her human life, and of her sister. She only started remembering the truth of her past after Tala’s return to Arcadia in 2012, and ended up leaving Cersei’s court with her sister and Kaizen, Gio and David – three of her blade mates.
Anino had Selene undergo therapy to rid her of her addiction to glamour, and only allowed her to start training as a Hunter at Ateneo de Manila University once they were sure that she was psychologically fit. Selene became a member of the Rockin’ Rollas, and proceeded to balance her training with Anino alongside her training with Lucrezia Rodriguez, the First Minstrel of the Order of the Minstrels. She also kept in close touch with her sister Tala, whom she had once given up for lost out of love.

A little after leaving the Methuselah in favor of joining Netsach with the rest of her blade mates, Selene accompanied Tala on an extended engagement in Arcadia. The two of them actually ended up getting lost for over two Arcadian centuries. The experience brought back the other personality that Selene had been struggling to keep under wraps ever since she returned from Arcadia, and only managed to destroy her demons with her sister’s help. She later freed herself permanently from the ghosts of her past by participating in the operation that killed Cersei, her old master. As such, she stepped on the battlefields of Operation Nyx with a clearer mind and a much steadier heart.

Whereas Gideon Reyes, the only other person who had trained under Lucrezia Rodriguez with her, elected to involve himself more deeply with the Order of Minstrels, Selene opted to focus on Keeping the Vigil. She attempted to fulfill her duties both to Netsach and to Zangyaku to the best of her abilities, using the knowledge and expertise she had gained during the long stretches that she had spent in Arcadia to aid the conspiracies that she was licensed with. In fact, during the First Reforms, Selene was one of Netsach and Zangyaku’s main liaisons between the conspiracies and their contacts within Arcadia.

In 2031, during one of her journeys in Arcadia, Selene ended up having an unexpected reunion with Lady Utsusemi, a former member of the Searing Wind and a mentor to both of the Vega sisters within Zangyaku. Utsusemi had perished during Operation Nyx, but rather than “ascending” or becoming one of the lost souls of the Underworld, Utsusemi became the successor of Lord Enma of the Autumn Court. Selene spent the remainder of the Darkest Vigil serving as Utsusemi’s handmaiden and most trusted advisor, establishing a new Autumn Court that was friendly towards Zangyaku’s agenda. The support that she and her mistress provided was invaluable to the cause, and part of the basis for her joining the Searing Wind as Hatsuharu Kurogane’s replacement.


CURRENT STATUS
Selene left Arcadia after the Armistice at Blaece. Currently juggling her hunting career with her music – she signed under Vice Records, and is now one of the rising stars of the Philippine music industry. Interestingly enough, she appears to be the close consort and “trusted partner” of Diana, the Queen of New York’s Court of Winter.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
The stress of her durance completely destroyed Selene’s mind. She developed a split personality as a means of survival, and reverted back, in as much as she could, to a perfectly blank slate in order to keep her master from hurting her too much. Cersei used this to her advantage, and replaced the girl that Selene could have been with a cold, calculating assassin, capable of feeling only when she was destroying someone else or hopped up on Glamour. Selene only became aware of this after she was cleansed of her addiction to Glamour, and – out of fear – did her best to create a new personality for herself: someone cool and level-headed, pleasant and perfectly in control. She had just begun to believe in her own lies when her sanity was challenged, yet again, during the centuries she spent with her sister in Arcadia.

While she has finally stabilized and can say, with confidence, that she is perfectly sane, control and moderation in all things continues to matter more to Selene than anything else. She is only too familiar with what it is like to lose one’s self, to be totally broken down to a point where one had absolutely nothing left to hold on to. A part of her still believes that she can still fall, and still end up hurting the people she loves. Worse yet, she believes that if she does fall, she might come to enjoy hurting those closest to her the most.

THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/FACTOR (1%). Selene’s connections to three powerful Fae courts – two Arcadian and one Changeling – along with the high position she possesses in Zangyaku are, on their own, angles worth considering with regard to her importance in today’s Vigil and the probable ramifications that may come should she ever decide to go rogue. Furthermore, she is “young” by the standards of her own kind, and has a notable history of mental illness. If on the off chance she turns against the Vigil, she will not be impossible to dispose of, but it is almost certain that she will not make it easy for her former comrades in the slightest.

HISTORY
Mica Torillo’s life turned upside down after she was targeted, at the age of 18, by a psychopathic Card. She was held prisoner in the Dark Hour, the Card siphoned her the energy of her soul in order to extend his own life. Members of Wolf’s Choice hunted the renegade down, but by the time they managed to defeat the man, it was too late to save Mica’s life.

This is where David Young steps in. David struck a deal with the Velvet Room, and sacrificed half of his mortal lifespan to bring Mica back to life. Igor resurrected her, but the trauma of her return made Mica a Card of the Chariot Arcana on the get-go. She immediately started training with Anino, and was assigned to the Rockin’ Rollas – Drake’s blade. The girl also continued to keep in touch with David, initially because she felt that it was necessary to show her gratitude and later because she began to fall in love with him.

Mica trained hard with Anino and applied herself with the same amount of fervor to her studies. She participated in nearly all of the engagements that the Rockin’ Rollas took part in, and also followed the rest of her blade to Netsach during the schism between Netsach and the Methuselah. She and David also decided to pursue a romantic relationship, and agreed to get married a little before Operation Nyx.

In a move that many believed to be uncharacteristic of her, Mica opted to retire from active Hunting and become more involved in the politics of the Order of the Grateful Dead after Operation Nyx. Derik Sloane, the original head of the Philippine Chapter, had been critically injured during the final strike, and David Young – then Mica’s fiancé – was being groomed to take charge of the Grateful Dead Chapter in the United Kingdom. This was also the period where David began revealing the secrets of the Minor Arcana to her. Fortunately, in 2017, both David and Mica were named as the new heads of their respective Chapters on their wedding day.

The next step that Mica took in her new career was aiding her husband David with the expansion of Young Incorporated, his family’s company. The two of them also joined Liyab’s Cerberus division, which allowed them to put their newfound skills to good use during the First Reforms. When the Darkest Vigil hit, however, both of them set their corporate careers on the backburner and rejoined the Vigil.

While David focused on backing Elias Tagabigay and several other members of Wolf’s Choice with Methuselah work, Mica put all of her energies into Liyab and holding the front back in the Philippines. She distinguished herself for almost single-handedly diffusing several major Umbra outbreaks all around the country, and aiding Liyab with cleaning up the Philippine government. In a way, she was also the glue that held the Rockin’ Rollas – her own Blade – together during their darkest moments, as they suffered two major losses and a good amount of personal tragedy.


CURRENT STATUS
Mica and David have decided to settle down after the Armistice at Blaece, and start thinking more about themselves and their own needs. Thanks to Tala Vega, both of them regained their ability to have children. They had both sacrificed this capability in order to fight Nyx back in 2012.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Mica is, in essence, the quintessential Chariot: driven, pragmatic, zealous and fixated to any almost self-destructive degree on chasing after her goals. Even as she is accomplishing one of the things that she has set herself on, her eyes are already on the metaphorical horizon in search of the next big thing. She respects strength and drive, and does not understand indolence or idleness. She does not view anything as a problem, only as obstacles that she will, with enough time and perseverance, take down.

Nevertheless, it is important to note that Mica is far more stable than most other Chariots. Aware, as she is, of her own tendencies, Mica upholds adheres to a strict moral code that she does not even subject other people, even her loved ones to. Running the straight and narrow is only too difficult for a Keeper of the Vigil like herself, but the last thing she wants is to end up trampling over the very things she has sworn to protect.


THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/NON-FACTOR. Results-oriented as Mica is, the Inquisitor appears to understand the inherent value of the Vigil, and of Pax Deorum’s current direction. It is highly unlikely that she will rebel, especially since she appears to be batting for the “winning” team and opposing them jeopardizes her own position.

HISTORY
Cora spent the first twenty-three years of her life hidden away by her own mother, who was the ring master of a cult that devoted its activities to kidnapping men and killing them as a “ritual sacrifice” to the gods. Their activities caught the attention of Netsach, who then sent Wolf’s Choice in to dismantle their operations. Admittedly, however, their real target was Cora: Tala Vega and Aria Skye had discovered that she was an Artisan.

After spending some time on Falner Estate, training with Aura Santos, Cora was eventually separated from her own blade and assigned to use Ameterasu’s Paintbrush – a powerful Relic – to fix the realm bleed that was occurring within the Fifth World. She travelled around the globe, using the paintbrush to restore balance within the Fifth World’s environment. She only returned to the country for Operation Nyx, and promptly received a promotion into the Fifth Circle as a reward for the contributions she made to the final strike.

During the Breaking of the Veil and the First Reforms, Cora occupied her time with extensive research. She wanted to unlock the secrets of her gift, and build a running database of the Artisans of the world. Then, during the Darkest Vigil, Cora – acting on the results of her research – delved into the spirit realm, coming into contact with the various Great Spirits of the Fifth World. She formed a series of Contracts with them, all geared towards allowing more individuals to awaken as Artisans. This was grounded upon a firm belief that their world needed more, and that the one thing that was keeping this from happening was the Abyss. Suffice to say, she was successful.


CURRENT STATUS
Cora retired from hunting after the Armistice at Blaece, and is permanently based in Siquijor. She is the founder of the School of Colors, which is the only space in the world that is geared towards the training of Artisans. She is also one of the latest additions to the Wiseman’s Committee, in order to represent the Artisans of the Fifth World.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
For nearly a quarter of her life, Cora was less a human being and more of a living extension of her mother’s will. She was a result of a rape and was later raped by another man herself, defined by trauma and shaped by a life of isolation and ignorance. Ironically, this lack of worldly knowledge became the main seat of her creative energies, as it made it only too easy for her to reach out with her gifts and meld the environment as she willed.

Breaking out of her mother’s shadow signaled the beginning of Cora’s emotional growth, and, in a way, opened up the floodgates of her emotions to the larger world around her. Dealing with her own scars made her learn how to see beauty in everything, and gave her a great sense of compassion towards other. It soon became her sole motivation to ensure, to the best of her abilities, that no one ever had to be victimized in the same way that she was again.


THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/NON-FACTOR. Cora’s deep sense of empathy towards the suffering of her fellow man combined with her pure intentions are more than enough to assure all other Keepers of the Vigil that she will most certainly never turn on one of her own. Ameterasu’s Paintbrush does not even factor into the equation.

HISTORY
Barbara was the only daughter of a Filipino senator. Prior to her Embrace, she lived her life oblivious to the fact that her mother was nothing but a trophy wife to her father, and her father was completely uninterested in anything beyond accumulating wealth and looking for a new and younger woman to marry. Barbara herself had her own issues to deal with: she had, at that point, built herself to become the perfect socialite on the belief that being empty-headed and beautiful was the only way that she would ever be able to be accepted to other people.

Christopher Rivera, a Toreador, took advantage of Barbara’s naiveté and desperate need to be loved. He Embraced the girl, and – in the hopes of cutting her loose from her family and making her completely dependent on him – brought her, hungry and overwhelmed by her vampiric nature, back home. Riley Falner ended up intervening at this point, and stopped Barbara from feeding on her own father. He then pulled the girl away, and brought her into the Methuselah.

Barbie was assigned to Wolf’s Choice, and attempted, to the best of her abilities, to balance her night classes with the day engagements that her companions in the blade occupied themselves with. A little after she and the rest of Wolf’s Choice captured Christopher and had him subjected to the Daywalker’s breed of vampiric justice, she learned that losing her had brought her parents together, and they had never given up hope that their daughter was alive even as Anino worked towards making sure that they would never find Barbara again. Thankfully, when Barbara finally mustered up the courage to show them what had happened to her, her parents were only too happy to have their daughter back.

When Netsach split away from the Methuselah and became its own conspiracy, Barbara followed her blade mates to Netsach without hesitation: she wanted to be with them, and she also wanted to remain close to Riley, the vampire that had become her surrogate father figure. She involved herself with the activities of Ordo Daywalker, and excelled in every task that was thrown her way. It was not too long before she became a Hound, and was later named Riley’s Golden Hand, the vampire who spoke with his authority. Her first assignment as the Golden Hand of the Daywalker was to keep the Masquerade in the months before Operation Nyx intact, and rally any willing Kindred to Netsach’s cause.

During this period, Barbara found herself interacting with Alejandro Raura, a vampire that had once been an enemy of the Methuselah’s and of Netsach’s. Alejandro ended up falling in love with Barbara sometime before the final fight against Nyx, but Barbara found herself unable to return his feelings.

Barbara faced the coming of the new age in 2013 and the years beyond with a lot of anxiety. Riley Falner was succumbing to the Deep Slumber; everyone she knew within her blade was busying themselves with whatever they could do in order to prepare for the Breaking of the Veil. Furthermore, she did not feel like she was entirely worthy of being the Golden Hand of the Daywalker. It took a long, heart-to-heart talk with her parents, Raura, Riley, Lex, and Marrigan to convince her that she could rise to the challenge.

Using the skills she had picked up during her first extended assignment as the Hound of the Daywalker, Barbara attempted to devote all of her energies from that point onward into diving knee-deep into Kindred politics. She used all of the powers and the influence that she had at her disposal to convince the unruly Kindred that nothing had changed, and that the Daywalker’s will was vested in her, and only in her. Beyond this, she was on the frontlines of every major anti-Grendal operation in Southeast Asia, and tried, as much as possible, to personally handle any Kindred-related matter that reached her ears. She is best known for Operation Skull’s Path, which involved establishing contact with the Elder Kindred of the Fifth World, and bringing whoever was willing into Ordo Daywalker. She and her comrades destroyed the Elders who were beyond saving, or clearly out to upset the Balance.


CURRENT STATUS
Since the Armistice at Blaece, Barbra has silenced (or completely gotten rid of) all of her detractors, and was, by far, the most powerful vampire in the Fifth World. She has recently won the Philippines’ senatorial elections, and is the first supernatural in this new age’s history to take public office.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Originally, the carefree and bubbly personality that Barbie appeared to possess was nothing but a front that she had constructed in order to make herself conform to Philippine society’s expectations upon an individual of her gender and social class. Barbara had spent most of her childhood being bullied for being smart and liking books rather than boys, and – in order to avoid that – she figured that it would be best to simply ignore one’s own wishes and be capable of filling in any container that society gave to her. While she retained the cheerful disposition and the love for looking good, Barbie eventually took back the aspects of herself that she had ignored for the entirety of her teenage years: her sharp wit, her propensity to speak up at the soonest opportunity, and her desire for knowledge.

Barbara has been lucky in the sense that unlike other vampires, she has barely had to experience the agony of living one’s unlife alone and in the dark. She was allowed, on the get-go, to walk out into the sun. She came home to parents who did not bother attempting to understand the situation and focused solely on loving their daughter in the only ways that they knew how: by fully supporting her in all of her endeavors. She was surrounded by blade mates who pushed her into doing things for herself rather than other people. Because of all of this, the distance between her human self and her vampiric nature is not nearly as wide as it could be, and she has a very real motivation to stay alive and reclaim her humanity by reaching Golconda.


THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/NON-FACTOR. Riley’s absence or presence is, interestingly enough, negligible: Barbara’s actions have granted her more than enough personal clout and influence both within Kindred political circles and within today’s Vigil. Were it not for her stolid beliefs in Pax Deorum’s decrees, she would pose a formidable threat to the stability of the World of Light and World of Darkness relations.

HISTORY
Something that Cisco was blissfully unaware of until 2012 was the fact that her grandmother, Bella Cavallone, was a high-level operative of the Methuselah and a powerful Reynardi that – because of the traumatic loss of her husband – took any excuse to hunt werewolves down. She also did not know that Vincenzo Profaci, her childhood friend and long-time crush, was a Werewolf. The Change had never happened to her mother, and it did not look like it was going to happen to her older brothers. Furthermore, when she and Cen had still been in contact regularly, Cen himself had been unaware of his family’s legacy.

Cisco’s first introduction to the World of Darkness and to Netsach occurred a few months after she elected to stay behind in the Philippines rather than return to Italy and continue to live with her brothers and her parents. It should be noted that the feral within her was starting to stir, making it increasingly difficult for her to live comfortably. She got a hold of Cen, whom she had not been in steady contact with for months, and asked if they could hang out: her mood was all over the place because of the beginnings of the Change, and she was raring for some familiar company that wasn’t out to smother her. En-route to Haven, Cisco ended up tumbling into the Dark Hour. Cen, together with members of Wolf’s Choice, pulled her out. The Malice Kings later had Wolf’s Choice stay with Cisco until she underwent her First Change, but the person who actually stayed with her throughout the agonizing process was Kalika Shinta, another Changing Breed like herself.

Cisco ended up joining Netsach, and becoming a member of Wolf’s Choice. She did her best to provide as much support for her new blade mates as possible by participating in as many engagements as she could, which also put her in contact with two new “families” for her to be a part of: the Pack, and the Rockin’ Rollas. She also reconnected with Cen, and the two of them managed to rise above the natural tendency for their kinds to hate each other without question. Another thing that she applied herself to was attempting, in her own way, to live independently from the dreams of her grandmother Bella, who took an unhealthy amount of interest in Cisco the moment she realized that one of her descendants had “finally received the gift” and was no longer useless. By the time Operation Nyx came around, Cisco was a full-fledged operative of Netsach, and she and Cen were involved in a romantic relationship.

Initially, Cisco’s life seemed to be on track after Operation Nyx. She held an esteemed position in Liyab’s Lodge of the Vigil (she was the first Changing Breed that this particular Lodge had accepted into their ranks), and she was an invaluable member of Netsach and Zangyaku. She and Vincenzo Profaci were also incredibly happy with each other, and got married. The loss of her one and only child with Cen, however, destroyed Cisco. She had been hoping that the magic of her own line, as Changing Breed, would break the Uratha “curse”. Although she tried to hold on for a little bit longer and salvage her relationship with Cen, Cisco eventually requested for an extended overseas assignment from Liandrin Delacroix: building a more extensive database of the Fifth World’s Changing Breed, and constructing safe houses for them all around the globe. While this was a pressing need for the conspiracy, it was ultimately an escape hatch. She needed to get away.

Between, 2029 and 2038, Cisco practically dropped off Netsach’s radars, contacting the conspiracies she was licensed with only when she had found a new Changing Breed, or if she had successfully established another safehouse. Furthermore, the only person she consistently contacted was Halo Jafelice, who had left the Philippines years before in order to do what Cisco was doing for herself at that moment. This was partially attributed to the fact that she had met another Reynardi on the road, a man named Darren. Cisco had wrongfully thought that Darren would make a suitable mate, and that it would only be proper for her to stick with her own kind. She actually ended up having two children with Darren, which further distanced her from her friends in the Vigil, and from her own family.

Things changed when Darren finally crossed the line: while they were in Thailand, he sold Margaret – his daughter with Cisco – to a prostitute ring that specialized in servicing clients whose particular kink involved supernatural whores. Enraged, Cisco killed him during their confrontation. Interestingly enough, the Death that came for Darren’s soul was Hikaru Shinta, one of Cisco’s closest friends: he had broken his “cycle” just long enough to handle things, and speak to Cisco for the first time since she witnessed Hikaru go down in Japan back in 2024.

This was Cisco’s turning point. She went back on the grid, and by 2039 – after she reconciled with the people she had had a falling out with and reconnecting with all of her friends and her remaining family – she had returned to the Philippines with her two children in tow. This gave her the opportunity to come back to Cen, and patch things up with him. She was afraid that he would not accept her children, and would never forgive her. She was wrong.


CURRENT STATUS
Cisco has since retired from active Hunting after the Armistice at Blaece. She plans on spending the rest of her years handling the administrative matters of Liyab’s Lodge of the Vigil together with her husband, overseeing the various safehouses that she and Halo managed to create, and watching over her children.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
Cisco’s tendency to shy away from responsibility was grounded on a deep lack of self-confidence and an aversion towards being tied down. She loved people and yearned for intimacy and acceptance, but was only too often unwilling to exert the effort to get to know others and invest time, energy and effort in maintaining lasting relationships. Becoming an operative of Netsach grounded her, mostly because it forced Cisco to realize that she had to stop running and take a stand if she ever wanted to be happy.

Her experiences with Vincenzo Profaci and the loss of her child together with her decision to break out of an abusive relationship with Darren ultimately made Cisco own up to her mistakes and take responsibility for them rather than pass them on to someone else. This also contributed to a major shift in her personality, as she moved from being a Sun-Chaser to a Den-Warden. The world, she had come to realize, was full of only too many beautiful and fragile things, and she had to be strong enough to protect them.


THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/NON-FACTOR. Although it was initially difficult to rely on Cisco due to her personal inclinations, the shift of Heart-Paths together with her experiences has matured her considerably. She is, at the moment, a valuable Keeper of the Vigil, even if she has chosen to stay off the battlefield unless it is absolutely necessary for her to step up.
