HISTORY
Bonnie is the only daughter of Michael and Valeria Soledad, two renowned Rivers Hunters. They were forced to abandon her soon after her birth in order to shield her from their Kindred pursuers, and presumed dead by many of their comrades within the Methuselah. As such, Bonnie grew up thinking that she had been abandoned by her parents. She only discovered the truth, together with her family legacy as a Rivers Hunter, in 2012, a little after her chance encounter with the World of Darkness in Mapayapa Village and becoming an operative of Anino. She was assigned to the people who would later become Wolf’s Choice, and bided her time while waiting for the return of her parents.
After reuniting with Michael and Valeria, Bonnie left Wolf’s Choice in order to travel with her family, and hone the skills and abilities that she had as a part of her Rivers legacy. The Methuselah had assigned her parents – both of them Inquisitors – to handle any Kindred-related business that Ordo Daywalker could not. That meant that the trio was usually undercover in territories that were hostile to the conspiracy. This naturally put a strain on the relationship Bonnie had with Vincenzo Profaci, and the pair broke up only four months after they got together. Granted, part of the reason might have been because while Bonnie was mature enough to accept her nature and do her best to keep the Vigil, Cen was still not ready to take charge of his life.
Later that year, Bonnie and her family left the Methuselah in favor of joining Netsach. They continued to serve the same function, but – while her father continued to travel – Bonnie and Valeria generally remained within Southeast Asia. This was because Valeria felt that it would be good to stay close at hand, just in case something happened. The Soledad family, however, was present in full during Operation Nyx.
Barbara Gomez approached Bonnie in 2023, asking for assistance. The Golden Hand needed as many enforcers as she could get given the fact that she was trying to assert her authority, and Bonnie’s skill set was precisely what she was looking for. Bonnie readily agreed to help. She ended up becoming part of the team that Barbara assembled for Operation Skull’s Path.
CURRENT STATUS
At present, Bonnie is a triple-licensed hunter of Netsach, Aegis Kai Doru, and the Methuselah; she’s an Inquisitor of Netsach, a Master Spear of Aegis Kai Doru, and an Auditor of Themis at Anino. She has also become an honorary member of Ordo Daywalker. She generally remains within the Philippines unless Barbara happens to need her to play emissary/judge/jury/executioner in the Daywalker’s name. This might be because she has a family of her own to raise now. Unfortunately, she’s a single mother: her husband, an independent Rivers Hunter named Damon Renner, was killed during an anti-Grendal operation in Africa.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE
The passivity that used to characterize Bonnie was her primary coping mechanism, a means to deal with loss while saving herself from more pain. She was often a victim of circumstances that were well beyond her control, and had experienced, time and again, being abandoned by the people she grew attached to. Rather than grow resentful, however, she learned to “accept” the situation and give up rather than make any effort at making things better for herself. In essence, she became afraid to try, and – by extension – afraid to grow. Coming back in contact with her parents and also witnessing the struggles of a kindred soul in Vincenzo Profaci eventually pushed her out of her shell.
At present, Bonnie is an incredibly driven person who defines every aspect of herself in her role as a Keeper of the Vigil and a member of the Soledad Family. She has no desire to be helpless, and applies herself with fervor to all of her duties in order to ensure that she can, inasmuch as she can, be the master of her own fate.
THREAT LEVEL
COMMENDABLE/NON-FACTOR. Bonnie is an incredibly skilled fighter, and has not even begun to reach her “prime” as a Rivers Hunter. Furthermore, the Soledad Line of Rivers is one of the oldest lines in existence, thus making their members privy to knowledge that even other Rivers Hunters who specialize in dealing with the Kindred would not have access to. As things stand, though, Bonnie appears to be supportive of Pax Deorum, and keenly interested in furthering her conspiracy’s agenda.
